Julian and Candice were married under a marula tree in the depths of the African bush, far away from electricity and cell phone signal. It was a small and intimate wedding, with just immediate family present. We had perfect weather without a drop of rain and it was wonderfully warm the whole day. I arrived at Thanda Private Game Reserve nice and early to see if I could sneak in a game drive before I was scheduled to start shooting, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be, so I had plenty of time with both the bride and groom to get to know them a bit and photograph all their preparations. What a wonderful day, thanks for choosing me to be part of a memorable celebration!
Roscoe and Ema were such an amazing couple, we had a really good time photographing their wedding. They were keen for just about anything and despite the rain on the morning of their wedding, they were all smiles. The ceremony was held at the Methodist church in Durban and afterwards they had a high tea, then we went to Mitchell Park for the creative shoot. Congratulations guys, hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon. Thanks for entrusting me to photograph your big day!
I spent the morning at an IT company called Datacentrix, they wanted staff photos taken. During the course of the day while chatting to some of the staff I was told that they were about to move premises and the company was going to be also undergoing a restructuring, so I had to wonder why I was there doing photos before all of this happened. Anyway I chose not to ask questions and went about taking photos as requested. This was a great bunch of computer boffins with very large smiles!
My final wedding for the year was Trevor and Tatiana, who got married in Scottburgh and had their reception at the Scottburgh Country Club. Trevor is part of the UK Royal Marines and Tatiana is from Brazil. They met in London a few years back and have been together since. I started off the day photographing Trevor and his groomsmen then headed over to Tatiana, who had decided beforehand that she was going to do her own make-up. The ceremony was at the Scottburgh High School and afterwards we had only a few minutes to do a couple of creative shots before the reception. Congratulations guys, and thanks for making me a part of your big day!
Donovan & Malinda had the smallest wedding I’ve ever shot, 20 people. It was a really lovely intimate day with no big bridal party and hundreds of guests. With the ceremony being at 11am, it was an early start for me. I was packed up and ready to be home in time for supper, which is almost unheard of for a wedding photographer.
Thanks for choosing me to shoot your big day guys!
Chris & Leeanne live in the UK but are both originally from SA. Their wedding was decorated with all sorts of pretty details that provided me with loads of photos. Chris got ready at his old family home right on the beach at Ballito, while Leeanne got ready at the bridal salon at Collisheen. Their ceremony was very emotional, and Leeanne’s father was one of the proudest dads I’ve ever seen.
Congratulations Chris & Leeanne!
Lythwood Lodge is one of my favourite venues, the gardens and cobbled driveway make it so picturesque. It was a wonderful sunny day for Henri & Jen’s wedding, allowing plenty of photographs. Everything happened at the venue which is always a bonus, it meant I didn’t have to drive from place to place to take the preparation photographs.
Congratulations Henri & Jen, it was a privilege shooting your big day!
The Unlimited Child is a non-profit organisation which is part of The Unlimited, their focus is on early childhood development. They provide educational toys to rural creche’s all over KZN, with a number of them being in the Inanda, 1000 Hills and Embo townships.
This video was used on the front page of their website. I went right into the township with all my equipment to do the filming, there was a lot of planning involved and extra people on board for this one. The message had to be perfect as well as the visuals and footage.
Troy and Tasmin are a young couple who knew they were right for each other from the moment they met. After 5 years of friendship Troy finally popped the question. The boys had a lot of fun in the morning clay pigeon shooting and drinking plenty of beer, while over at the girls the usual wedding preparation chaos ensued.
It started off as a wonderful sunny day, which lasted through to the ceremony. Soon after that the famous Midlands mist arrived just in time for the creative shoot, I think it gives the photos a really lovely dream-like feel to them. Congratulations Troy and Tasmin, wishing you all the best for the future.
This is a motivational video for the Global Direct sales agents. The script was provided by a copywriter, and I was given a tight brief as to what to include in the video. It was put together in one day to meet the tight deadline.
