Beach weddings are always so much fun, and Ryan and Carla’s was no different. They had a morning wedding, which consisted of the ceremony followed by a high tea and finally the creative photo shoot on the beach. All finished by lunch. There were enough bridesmaids and groomsman to have some fun with, and they were up for anything. What a great couple and great friends.
Salt Rock is a stunning venue and I’d recommend it to any couple, congratulations guys, hope you enjoy the pics!
Eugene and Sharon are both in their fifties, and both have their own children. So when it came time for the grooms speech he hilariously explained the differences between dating when you’re a parent and dating when you’re in your early twenties. It was a really nice change from the usual. He also recited an entire Shakespearean Sonnet by memory.
There wasn’t any huge rushes or being pressured for time, the day flowed naturally and everything worked out great! It was a slightly more traditional approach this time around, hope you enjoy the pics!
Darren & Stefan were married at Lastingham in the KZN Midlands. We did the creative shoot before the ceremony to avoid having the guests waiting, and also it would have been night time by the time the ceremony was finished. It was a great day for everyone there and I got some wonderful shots. The decor was magnificent and the cake was one of the most elaborate ones I’ve ever seen. Congratulations guys!
John & Briget were such a fun couple, it was clear from the moment I met them that it was going to be a wedding unlike any other. Their ceremony was held down on the beach not far from their holiday home in Umdloti. The creative shoot turned in to a trash the dress shoot too, then she changed in to a stunningly elegant white wedding gown for the reception. The grooms son Tim, at only 10 years of age, gave a hilarious and touching speech and the first dance was an absolute blast.
Thanks so much for choosing me guys, congratulations!
Julian and Candice were married under a marula tree in the depths of the African bush, far away from electricity and cell phone signal. It was a small and intimate wedding, with just immediate family present. We had perfect weather without a drop of rain and it was wonderfully warm the whole day. I arrived at Thanda Private Game Reserve nice and early to see if I could sneak in a game drive before I was scheduled to start shooting, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be, so I had plenty of time with both the bride and groom to get to know them a bit and photograph all their preparations. What a wonderful day, thanks for choosing me to be part of a memorable celebration!
Roscoe and Ema were such an amazing couple, we had a really good time photographing their wedding. They were keen for just about anything and despite the rain on the morning of their wedding, they were all smiles. The ceremony was held at the Methodist church in Durban and afterwards they had a high tea, then we went to Mitchell Park for the creative shoot. Congratulations guys, hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon. Thanks for entrusting me to photograph your big day!
My final wedding for the year was Trevor and Tatiana, who got married in Scottburgh and had their reception at the Scottburgh Country Club. Trevor is part of the UK Royal Marines and Tatiana is from Brazil. They met in London a few years back and have been together since. I started off the day photographing Trevor and his groomsmen then headed over to Tatiana, who had decided beforehand that she was going to do her own make-up. The ceremony was at the Scottburgh High School and afterwards we had only a few minutes to do a couple of creative shots before the reception. Congratulations guys, and thanks for making me a part of your big day!
Donovan & Malinda had the smallest wedding I’ve ever shot, 20 people. It was a really lovely intimate day with no big bridal party and hundreds of guests. With the ceremony being at 11am, it was an early start for me. I was packed up and ready to be home in time for supper, which is almost unheard of for a wedding photographer.
Thanks for choosing me to shoot your big day guys!
Chris & Leeanne live in the UK but are both originally from SA. Their wedding was decorated with all sorts of pretty details that provided me with loads of photos. Chris got ready at his old family home right on the beach at Ballito, while Leeanne got ready at the bridal salon at Collisheen. Their ceremony was very emotional, and Leeanne’s father was one of the proudest dads I’ve ever seen.
Congratulations Chris & Leeanne!
Lythwood Lodge is one of my favourite venues, the gardens and cobbled driveway make it so picturesque. It was a wonderful sunny day for Henri & Jen’s wedding, allowing plenty of photographs. Everything happened at the venue which is always a bonus, it meant I didn’t have to drive from place to place to take the preparation photographs.
Congratulations Henri & Jen, it was a privilege shooting your big day!
