My amazing partner Ruth accompanied me to Ty and Bronwyn’s wedding, and she did some exceptional video camera work. I took care of all the photos that you can see in the post below while she shot all the video footage, even though she hasn’t done it many times she has a naturally creative eye and I’m grateful that I can always put my complete trust in her.
I edited the below highlights clip to Ty and Bronwyn’s first-dance song called Into the Mystic by Van Morrison, enjoy!
Vijesh & Himarsha’s wedding started off with a morning traditional Hindu ceremony, followed by a lunch at the Orchid House venue at Collisheen. In the afternoon we did the creative shoot in the gardens, afterwards they got changed into western evening wear and had a reception at the Boma which carried on late into the night. The Boma is the bigger venue at Collisheen, decked out with coloured lights and a big dance floor. I’ve shot many parties at that venue, all of them very different but all just as special and meaningful.
I worked alongside South African photographers named Meyer & Rene, who divide their time between Bloemfontein and the UK. There was also a camera crew from Mela which is an SABC Eastern magazine show. Congratulations Vijesh & Himarsha.
Mathew and Tamlyn had a really fun wedding at Greensleeves at Camelot in Hillcrest. It was really great to shoot so close to home for a change, I got in my car and was home less than five minutes later. Tamlyn opted for a different dress to the typical, it was still white but had a floral pattern which suited her bubbly personality. It turns out Mathew is also quite a stranger to wearing a suit so between the two of them it was surprises all round. There were quite a few old friends of mine at this wedding too so it was wonderful to catch up with them.
It was a pleasure being part of your wedding Mathew and Tamlyn, wishing you all the best for the future!
